Places & Spaces has invested more than £2 million into projects that improve community facilities, creating a real legacy for Birmingham 2022.
There is now up to £15,000 available for projects that improve physical activity opportunities for communities in England through Sport England’s Movement Fund.
Prudhoe Golf Club in Northumberland set out to create a new indoor training facility to develop more community participation and junior golf in the area.
They raised £21,359, including a £9,000 pledge from Sport England to make it a reality.

Success story
The community in Eastbourne came together to raise the funds and start work on a new boxing and fitness gym, located at the football club. It unlocked +Extra funding from both Sport England and the East Sussex Community Wellbeing Fund, helping them to raise more than £16,000 to get started.
