Get up to £15,000 to improve physical activity opportunities for your community
We’re encouraging not for profit organisations who play an important role in keeping their community physically active to get involved.
Projects that provide opportunities for groups facing barriers for activity are of particular interest, as well as projects in communities identified as having the greatest need for activity programmes.
If you have not already registered with Crowdfunder and started your campaign, start your application through Sport England.
If you have already started a crowdfunding campaign you can apply for match funding via your Crowdfunder dashboard.
Improving physical activity for people and communities who need it most.
You need a crowdfunding project to apply for funding. Start or continue adding your project and, if eligible, you'll be prompted to apply.
The Movement Fund offers crowdfunding pledges, grants and resources to improve physical activity opportunities for the people and communities who need it the most. If your project aligns with our priorities, we can fund a wide range of costs and items up to £15,000.
Our focus is to support projects that match our goal of getting more people active, reducing the number of inactive people and tackling inequalities. This means our investments support the objectives of our strategy, Uniting the Movement.
At the core of the Movement Fund is its dedication to constant improvement, informed by everything we learn from the projects we fund.

The Movement Fund supports projects that promote physical activity, including active travel, walking, cycling, dance, fitness, and sporting activities.
Here are some other things our funding could cover:
If your application is approved, you’ll get match funding of 50% towards your initial crowdfunding target, up to a maximum of £15,000.
To receive a pledge, you will need to do the following (the ‘pledge conditions’):1) raise at least 25% of your initial target,
2) raise this from a minimum number of supporters
3) following receipt of a pledge you will also need to reach 100% of your initial funding target to receive the funds from Sport England.
Note – Sport England reserve the right to vary these pledge criteria; projects will be notified if their pledge criteria will vary from the stated terms above.Before completing your application please read the full Eligibility and Pledge Criteria.
Funded projects will be required to agree to the Award Conditions.
