The impact of crowdfunding in rugby

Different ways that clubs are using the platform to make a difference

Doncaster Knights

Supporters of the Castle Park outfit raised more than £50,000 to steer the club through the early days of the pandemic

The community-focused club raised over £35,000 to bridge the financial chasm caused by the coronavirus crisis

The pandemic halted income overnight but the Wids supporters fought back, raising more than £15,000 for clubhouse improvements

Plymouth Albion

Albion fans took to our 'pay it forward' scheme, pre-selling matchday tickets to generate over £31,000 to ensure the club's survival

Old Coventrians

Fans raised well over £12,500 for operational costs and outdoor training equipment ahead of their centenary celebrations next year

The south-west London club launched their #OneClub campaign in response to the crisis, showing their support for the NHS in the process

The Cornish club turned to Crowdfunder to raise the money for ground improvements at the Recreation Ground, its home for over 90 years

The long-standing amateur sports club supports grassroots rugby in Wigan and needed money to carry out facility improvements

We do not want this situation to be the reason why rugby won't be played in Bolton. We are in a fairly deprived area and lots of people use our facilities.

When our commercial manager suggested organising a Crowdfunder campaign I thought it was a very good idea, but for it to have raised over £50,000 is truly incredible.
