Aim
To upgrade our existing fast-failing floodlights to an energy saving LED system. Brighter light, lighter bills; Better for everyone.
Who are we?
Eardisley Tennis & Croquet Club is a small dual sports club in a beautiful rural area that strives to provide sporting opportunities to a wide community, from the very small to our beloved OBE’s (Over Bloomin’ Eighty!).
Why are we crowdfunding?
Our very dated Halide floodlights are on their last legs and currently only operating at 75% capacity and could deteriorate further. They are expensive to run and provide a poor quality of light which is not conducive to getting club players out in the darker winter months.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The entire sum of money raised will be devoted to the LED floodlight upgrade. Five separate companies have been researched and their products examined and detailed light surveys obtained. The company chosen has an excellent record in the installation of the equipment and for its performance.
Community impact
We are one of the few surviving tennis clubs in our area and improving the spaces where our members are active will encourage even greater take up of the increasing number of activities we are looking to offer to our junior, adult and senior members. This is particularly important for local schools, many of which do not have the facilities to allow their pupils to try tennis or pickleball. The autumn, winter and spring evenings are a prime time slot in which to do this. This project also has the potential to save our small club a substantial sum annually by lowering our energy usage whilst also improving our environmental sustainability.
