Sport England - Movement Fund provided £6,759 of match funding
New Carpet Underlay for Caradon Indoor Bowlers
Liskeard, Cornwall, United Kingdom
Aim
We're raising £13,518 to replace the carpet underlay at Lux Park Leisure Centre, ensuring indoor bowls continues for our community.
- Caradon Indoor Bowls Club who play at the Lux Park Leisure Centre in Liskeard are seeking £13,518 in order to fund the replacement of a carpet underlay which has now reached the end of its serviceable life. Without replacement, bowls will no longer run true, making the sport impossible to play safely and fairly. If funds cannot be found the club will be forced to disband, thereby removing a valuable source of physical activity, friendship and social inclusion for hundreds of mainly pensionable age customers.
The Sport England Movement Fund funded by the National Lottery have kindly agreed to provide £6759 of these funds provided that Caradon IBC can raise a similar amount from public funding.
Can we urgently request that you help save this Bowls Club by making a generous donation which will enable the Club to book the carpet suppliers (Dales Ltd) to schedule the work in. We would be so grateful for any support you can offer, whether that's a contribution to our goal or by sharing our project with others.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and help keep this much-loved sport and community facility alive for the people of Cornwall. We have only eight weeks to raise the funds, so your urgent help will be most appreciated.
The facility is open to men and ladies of all ages and ability, and provides great enjoyment to all participants as seen by our summer tuesday morning players.
The Caradon Bowls Club is recognised as a key part of Liskeard's sporting community, as the photos below show, with Town Mayor Simon Cassidy opening the green for the 2023 season by delivering the first bowl, with fellow members watching.
We hope that you appreciate just how important this facility is for the bowlers of Liskerd and surrounding districts, and we thank you, in anticipation, for your support and contribution
