Hygienic cladding of pool lobby and changing room

Aim

Our swimming pool changing rooms are in much need of renovation as we have various reported concerns from our hirers

This project will install hygienic wall cladding within two lobbies and two changing rooms to create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for participants. The current wall surfaces are difficult to maintain to an appropriate hygiene standard, which limits usage and creates a barrier for new and existing users.

Improving the hygiene, durability and accessibility of the changing facilities will directly support increased participation in physical activity. Clean, well-maintained changing spaces are essential for user confidence, particularly for young people, women and girls, and community groups who may otherwise feel uncomfortable using the facility.

The facility is currently used by a range of groups including special needs schools, baby groups, clubs and disadvantaged pupils. 

By improving the environment, we will not only retain existing users but also attract new participants who may currently feel excluded due to the condition of the facilities. This will support sustained increases in physical activity within the local community.
