Crowdfunder and Creative Scotland have teamed up to offer £150,000 in match funding, supporting artists and creatives across Scotland to access the financial support they need to deliver work that enhances creative and cultural life of the nation.

We invite applications from creative individuals, groups, and businesses seeking consideration for match funding of up to £10,000 per project. This opportunity is designed to boost your fundraising efforts and bring visibility to your projects.

Creative Scotland is supporting individuals, groups and organisations delivering creative projects in Scotland.

You need a crowdfunding project to apply for funding. Start or continue adding your project and, if eligible, you'll be prompted to apply.

Creative Scotland Crowdmatch is dedicated to empowering creatives in Scotland to bring their ideas and projects to life. We make crowdfunding more accessible and beneficial by offering an alternative funding option. Our platform supports individuals, groups or collaborations, and businesses, ensuring they can sustain their creative endeavours and turn their visions into reality.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for match funding the funded project must deliver activity in at least one of the following themes:

  • Arts
  • Screen
  • Creative industries

Organisational Eligibility

Individuals who are freelance or self-employed artists and creative practitioners residing in Scotland, aged 18 years or above. Any type of constituted artistic, creative or cultural organisation based in Scotland can apply.

Pledge Criteria

If your application is approved, you’ll get match funding of up to a maximum of £10,000.

To receive match funding, the following conditions apply (the ‘pledge conditions’):

1. For every donation made towards your project we'll match it up to £250,

2. Only one donation per supporter will be matched,

3. You must receive donations from a minimum of 25 unique Supporters,

4. Your project must reach 100% of its target before closing,

5. Creative Scotland match funding will only be available for 8 weeks from the "live" date of the project or the approval date of the application, whichever is more recent.

Note – Creative Scotland reserve the right to vary these pledge criteria; projects will be notified if their pledge criteria will vary from the stated terms above.

Applicants may not receive funding from both Crowdmatch and other Creative Scotland or Screen Scotland funds for the same project. If a project is successfully funded through Crowdmatch, the recipient is ineligible to apply for additional funding from other Creative Scotland or Screen Scotland funds for that same project. In addition, projects that have already received funding from Creative Scotland’s Open Funds, Screen Scotland funds, or other targeted funds cannot apply to Crowdmatch.
