Produce and release our full length second album!
Folk, Feminism and Faith

We are Siskin Green, a contemporary Scottish folk trio. Since releasing our debut album Siskin Green in 2023, we have sung in tents and stages, churches and village halls, on the Greenbelt main stage with 10,000 people and on BBC radio and TV.
We have been stunned and honoured by how you have embraced and taken our music to heart and have been working away on a new set of songs for you! Now we need your help in getting them out into the world.
Come Away In
From November 2025 to January 2026 we’ve been busy recording with Steve Butler in Ferndale Studio, tucked away in the hills of Dumfriesshire. Twelve songs have been lovingly chosen, written and arranged, weaving together threads of spirituality and storytelling.
“Accomplished musicianship and ‘to die for’ vocals.”
- review by Marc Higgins
Close vocal harmony is at the heart of these recordings, accompanied by the evocative folk instrumentation of Jane's percussion, Margaret's banjo and guitar and Suzanne's fiddle.
We are delighted to be joined for some of the arrangements by Amy Duncan on double bass.

Reimagined hymns will sit alongside modern folk anthems, a unique blend of the earthy and ethereal. Songs focus on the wider world as well as our own personal experience: looking out and looking in.
So why a Crowdfunder?

For our first album we were incredibly lucky to receive generous donations and grants to record and produce the record fully funded.
For this album we received funding and used band funds and time to cover the recording stage and are now looking for financial support to cover the mixing, mastering, production and release costs which will come to a minimum of £8000.
Now we are looking to draw on the support of those we know would love to have a new Siskin Green album in the world... you!
This could be as simple as choosing to pre-order the album through this Crowdfunder. That would be a massive help! And if you would like to offer a greater level of support, there are a variety of “reward tiers” available so that we can show our gratitude with some fun Siskin perks!
With Creative Scotland match funding, your support of this Crowdfunder will go even further, with every £1 you donate matched up to £250.
Keep scrolling down for more detailed information, but for now know that we have been so grateful for all your support of our music so far. We hope that together we can release a new album full of beauty, depth and a call to live lives of love.
With love, peace and grace

Budget
Mixing and mastering - £4200
We have already funded the recording stage of the project, this is for the mixing and mastering of those recordings to the highest quality at professional rates. We will be working with Steve Butler of Ferndale Studio for the mixing and Castlesound Studios for mastering the project.
Photography and graphic design - £800
Our long term collaborators Sandy Butler (photography) and Toben Lewis of Baille Mor Books (graphic design) will help us to craft the visuals for this record, with Toben also creating new merchandise for the project.
CD manufacturing costs - £1700
Birnam CD has been a reliable CD duplication service for us, based locally in Dunkeld, Scotland. CDs are produced in the EU.
PR services - £900
Birnam CD proved vital to the initial success of our debut album. Their PR services for independent artists got us brilliant reviews and local radio airplay. Their wealth of experience and knowledge is worth its weight in gold to a self-releasing band like us who are all balancing this project with other jobs.
Crowdfunder and administrative fees at 5-10% of project
This includes the Crowdfunder platform fees, digital distribution and other fees related to the release process.
Creative Scotland Crowdmatch has provided £4,000 of match funding
