Support dundee radio club ~ and help us grow our 2026 festival edition into an expanded celebration of sound, creativity, and connection

Who we are ☁

Hello, we are dundee radio club ~ a space for sonic attunement and exploration; an active community radio station and space for sounding and listening together, broadcasting out digitally via a dedicated website

dundee radio club came into being in 2024 – a project instigated by Dundee-based curator/producer Becca Clark and sound artist/producer Su Shaw – through the support of the Creative Dundee Amps community.

In February 2025, we broadcast our inaugural 48-hour Listening Festival — a marathon celebration of sound, that brought together contributors and listeners from across Dundee and around the world.

This digital festival format connected us to a global network of sonic adventurers, whilst also allowing us to connect more intersectionality to our creative community in Dundee. Through the collective contributions of this broad and brilliant network, dundee radio club has grown into the project we are today.

And we’d like to keep building! Drawing on the exceptional response to dundee radio club’s first festival, we are looking to galvanise that energy for an expanded 2026 edition — listening for longer, and finding new ways to be listening together.

Vision and plans for 2026 ☁

Building on the joy and momentum of our first listening festival, with your support, we hope to grow the 2026 Listening Festival into a 72-hour celebration of sound, creativity, and connection. Our vision is to create more opportunities for connection, to champion new ways of listening and making, and to create an open, accessible, digital–physical listening experience that celebrates sonic expression in all its forms.

dundee radio club’s aim is to meaningfully contribute, grow and nurture a sonic and radio community within the city, providing opportunities for Dundonians to create, make and participate. We want to amplify - in very literal terms - the connections that can be forged through sound, and share the myriad of ways that sound can find space in the city. A city that has not always had the platforms needed to share the voices of those living, working and creating or sustaining a practice in Dundee - or the physical space to do so easily.

The nature of radio — to tune in - to tune out - to happen upon - and to be surprised with the eclectic mix that can be offered back-to-back — makes it an exciting space to bring ears together from across experience, taste, circumstance and geographical locations.

Formed through a shared love of sound in all its forms - dundee radio club champions listening as a creative, communal act. Our community comprises DJs, artists, writers, audio-makers and community organisers, who care about growing a culture of listening in Dundee – one that celebrates diversity, experimentation, and imagination – whilst looking beyond ourselves and connecting globally.

With your support we will:

☁ Expand our open call

We’ll open submissions to the network we developed in 2025 - local, national and global - whilst actively encouraging and welcoming new sonic contributors; continuing to highlight artists with ties to Dundee; and to platform the power of radio by inviting collectives, community groups and grassroots organisers to get involved and share their stories.

☁ Offer New Creative Opportunities

To encourage new sound creation, we will offer 3 x micro-commissions to develop new audio works. These paid commissions will help grow our community whilst ensuring the festival remains equitable, diverse, and artist-centred.

☁ Host in-person listening events

In 2026, alongside our online broadcast, we’d like to host in-person listening events. Accessible to all, these gatherings will create purposeful spaces for shared listening – something that we believe we need more of in the city, as a reminder that sound can bring us together in quiet yet amplified ways.

☁ Organise radio-making workshops

Following a year of collaborations across wonderfully varied communities, including Glasgow Zine Festival, Soundbase, and Dundee Jazz Festival - we want to give something back to those who are keen to engage more deeply with sound-making.

To complement this years festival, we will run a hands-on workshop, led by an artist working with radio. This free to attend session will encourage creative experimentation, build community, and with no prior experience required, offer a welcoming introduction to sound-making for those who may be interested in contributing to dundee radio club in future, or who are simply curious about creating sonically!

For the love of radio! ☁

We believe deeply in the transformative potential of listening. Sound crosses borders and it connects communities. It creates spaces for empathy, imagination, and shared experience – especially in a world that often feels overwhelming, divided, and increasingly disconnected.

Through our crowdfunding campaign we hope to reach new audiences, continue to nurture a culture of listening in Dundee (and beyond!), and celebrate radio’s unique ability to bring people together across distance and difference.

dundee radio club is more than just a station – it's a growing community of sonic explorers dedicated to creating new spaces for listening, connecting, and creating. As we expand our listening festival and programming in 2026, your support will help us amplify these connections and offer exciting new opportunities for local, national, and global sound-makers, at all levels.

By contributing, you’re not just helping to fund another festival; you’re investing in a platform for voices that are seeking space to share their projects further. If you know Dundee, you know that space can be hard to come by. Together, we can build a lasting culture of sonic experimentation in the city!

Let's get noisy!

With lots of love and sonic gratitude,
