The Story
It all started with a swim.
In 2014, nine swimmers crossed 3km from Albania to Corfu - raising funds for causes that matter. What began as a small, informal challenge has grown into an international event, bringing together a global community of swimmers each year.
Today, the Albania–Corfu crossing brings together over 100 swimmers each year, travelling from more than 20 countries to take part in a shared experience in the water.
To date, Go Overboard has raised over €200,000 for marine conservation projects - and we’re just getting started.
Our Swims
The Albania to Corfu crossing is our flagship event — a 3km open water swim across the Corfu Channel, held every September. In 2024 we welcomed over 100 swimmers and raised €50,000 in a single season. The 2026 crossing takes place on 12 September and sold out in under 24 hours.
The Global Challenge is our newest initiative — a six-month swim fundraiser running from May to October. Swim 1–3km anywhere in the world, set up your fundraising page, and be part of the same movement. Different locations. Same purpose.

Where the money goes
Every pound raised through Go Overboard funds marine conservation. We work with the Conservation Collective and local environmental foundations including the Ionian Environment Foundation and the Cyclades Preservation Fund.
Projects we support include monitoring dolphins and whales in the Ionian Sea, preserving Posidonia seagrass meadows, protecting endangered Mediterranean monk seals, and funding ecological education in island schools.
How to get involved
Set up your fundraising page under one of our projects - the Albania to Corfu Swim, the Global Challenge, or a specific local foundation. Every donation counts, whether you're swimming or supporting someone who is.
