Come fly with us! Help 'Window Seat' take off at the Fringe 2024: a new play following mother and daughter on board a plane.

 New stretch target

Any surplus funding will be directly invested into the areas specified and aid the development of the show for future presentations.

After a thrilling debut at the Burton Taylor Studio in Oxford last year, ‘Window Seat’ returns to audiences at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Written and directed by Cleopatra Coleman and starring Maud May and Helen Rose Hampton, the show will run at Paradise Green from the 2nd to 24th of August. 19 morning performances in a 45 seater blackbox, in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town - we're ready to rumble but  need YOU to help us lift off!

The Show

In this tender off-beat comedy, mother and daughter survey the changes in their lives as they wait on board a plane. One is getting used to an empty nest, the other to adulthood. Over the course of 50 minutes, their conversation zig-zags with a mischievous honesty as they try to detangle and restore a knotty but irresistible affection for each other.

Fem, quirky, light-hearted and yet true to life, 'Window Seat' asks how two individuals, who at some level identify with each other and depend on a lifelong collaboration, negotiate powerful and contradictory feelings of love, loyalty and independence.

‘a joy to watch... This power is that of potential rather than attainment, like knowing the seatbelt sign will turn off but not knowing quite when’ – Will Wilson, The Cherwell

‘a gloriously talented double-act of love and resentment’ – Peter Kessler, The President’s Husband’s Drama Reviews

Where your donations go

Bringing any production to the Fringe is a costly affair and we truly value the contribution you are making to this one. Your support means we can capitalise on a month's rehearsal and a full three-week festival run. Both are critical to uplifting the show; to empowering the actors, gaining momentum and building an audience.

A quick breakdown of where we allocate funds:

Event Registration Fee and Venue Cost

While we are very lucky that Paradise Green’s venue fee is affordable relative to many Fringe venues, your money directly impacts our ability to perform in this evocative space a stone's throw from the Royal Mile.

Actors' wages

We are committed to paying Maud and Helen following an Equity Agreement and using same-or-above Living Wage Foundation Rates.

Each year so many incredible productions come to the Fringe and a great marketing campaign makes all the difference. The money you donate ensures our presence in Edinburgh is known so that plenty of people come to see the show.

Transport to + Accommodation In Edinburgh

We will be sharing spaces and being as resourceful as possible over our month in Edinburgh. Your contributions ensure we stay warm, safe and rested in that nippy Scottish weather...

Thank you for your support and faith in this compelling new production of 'Window Seat'. We are so excited for these coming months and are delighted to share it with you.
