Help me turn my American-in-Scotland sketches into a comedy web series about love, belonging, and finding out how wonderful Glasgow is.
An American in Glasgow: A Webseries
Two and a half years ago, I moved from America to Glasgow to make art.
I had no idea how much this city was going to change me.
I started making little sketches about what it was like to be an American living in Scotland — the culture shocks, the misunderstandings, the things I loved, and all the wonderfully strange moments that come with trying to build a life somewhere completely new.
And you watched them.
Today, more than 39,000 people follow me on TikTok and 92,000 follow me on Instagram, and so many of you have been part of my journey of discovering Scotland.
Now I want to turn those sketches into something much bigger.
I'm making a web series.
An American in Glasgow is a five-part comedy series, with each episode around 10 minutes long.
It's about an American woman who comes to Scotland looking for Jamie from a fictional Highlander TV Show...
...and instead finds Jamie from Govan.
😂
But it's not really a story about finding the perfect man.
It's an anti-rom-com.
She arrives believing that a fictional Scottish hero might save her life. Instead, she discovers that what she actually needs is a place where she can belong.
And she finds that place in Glasgow.
I want to film the entire series in Glasgow, featuring places including the Barras, Merchant City and Glasgow Central Station.
I want the city to feel like a character in the story — not a postcard version of Scotland, but the real, funny, chaotic, beautiful Glasgow that I've fallen in love with.

The project is designed as a Scottish production with Scottish creative talent at its centre.
They're ready to keep making it with me once we secure the funding.
Why do we need your help?
Making a scripted series properly costs money.
There are actors to pay. Crew to pay. Locations, equipment, sound, lighting, editing, colour grading, music, and everything else that goes into making something that we're genuinely proud of.
Our full production budget for An American in Glasgow is £40,000.
We're launching this Crowdfunder with an initial target of £20,000, which will help us take the first steps towards bringing the series to life.
We're seeking support through Creative Scotland Crowdmatch, which could provide up to £10,000 in match funding towards this initial target, subject to meeting the fund's conditions.
Once we reach that initial target, we'll introduce stretch goals to help us raise the remaining funds towards our full £40,000 production budget.
The first £20,000 will help us make the first three fully edited and completed episodes that will be available on YouTube. Any additional funding will help us complete the final two episodes of the series.
And throughout the process, we're determined to use the money to pay the talented people who make this project properly.
Your support could help us unlock match funding, build momentum and bring An American in Glasgow to the screen!
What happens when you support us?
Your money will help us:
🎬 Pay our Scottish cast and crew fairly
📍 Film across eight Glasgow locations
🎥 Hire professional camera, lighting and sound equipment
🎨 Create the world of the series through production design, costumes and props
✂️ Edit and colour-grade all five episodes
🎧 Create professional sound and music
💬 Add captions and subtitles
📣 Promote and distribute the finished series
And, most importantly, it will help us turn something that started as a few silly sketches on my phone into a proper piece of screen storytelling.
Why I'm asking you
I came to Glasgow looking for a place to make art.
I found a place that made me feel at home.
Now I want to make something that captures what that feels like.
A funny, romantic, ridiculous, Glasgow-set story about an American looking for a fictional Highlander and finding something much more real instead.
If you've enjoyed my American-in-Scotland videos, if you love Glasgow, if you've ever moved somewhere new and tried to find your place, or if you just want to see what happens when an American goes looking for Jamie Fraser and finds a Govan guy instead...
I'd love you to help me make it.
Donate if you can. Share it if you can't. And come make this series with us. ❤️
Let's make An American in Glasgow.
