TAFF-ELY FOODBANK

RCN 1195468, Pontyclun

We don’t believe anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

TAFF-ELY FOODBANK

Taff Ely Foodbank, founded in 2009 by Bethel Baptist Church in Pontyclun, is dedicated to addressing food insecurity and crisis support in the Taff Ely area of Wales. Part of the Trussell Trust’s nationwide network of food banks, it provides emergency food supplies to individuals and families in crisis, delivering over 4,400 three-day food packages in recent years. In addition to emergency food aid, Taff Ely Foodbank offers a "Fuel Bank" service that helps those struggling with heating and electricity costs.

Since becoming a registered charity in 2021, Taff Ely Foodbank has expanded its operations to meet rising demand, relying on donations and volunteer support from the local community. The food bank continues to grow, focusing not only on immediate food needs but also on tackling underlying issues of poverty through money management courses and partnerships with local support agencies.
