12Taff Ely Foodbank is more than a place to pick up food, we are a safety net for families facing impossible choices between heating, eating, and keeping the lights on.
Founded in 2009, we’ve grown from a small volunteer-led project into a vital community service. Today, we support over hundreds of people every month and demand is still rising.
We provide emergency food parcels, baby essentials, and a listening ear to those hit hardest by poverty and crisis. Many of the people we help are working families, single parents, disabled individuals, or those navigating sudden change like illness, job loss, or rising costs.
But we don’t stop at food.
We offer wrap-around support, helping people access debt advice, emergency fuel grants, housing help, and benefits guidance, working with trusted partners across the region. We believe in restoring dignity, not just giving out tins.
In the last year alone, our small team supported by incredible volunteers has:
Distributed over 3,742 emergency meals
Launched a dedicated Baby Bank providing formula, nappies, and clothes
Introduced a new Campaigns Team to tackle the root causes of food poverty
We’re proud to be part of the Trussell Trust network, but we are fully locally funded and that means we rely on generous people like you to keep going.
Now, as donations fall and the cost of living crisis deepens, we urgently need more monthly supporters to help us plan ahead and ensure our shelves stay stocked.
