The Rees Foundation was set up in 2013 by Jan Rees OBE. As a Foster Carer Jan has devoted over 40 years of her life to the care of children and young people in the UK and is the Chair to the charity supported by voluntary trustees, care-experienced Ambassadors, and a staff team who are all care experienced through lived experience or profession. The Rees Foundation vision is that people who are leaving care should have support networks in place and shouldn’t be left alone to tackle life’s challenges... “Care doesn’t stop at 18, 21 or 25 - someone has to be there, to care and to help”.
By care-experienced we mean someone who has been looked after by the local authority, such as foster care, residential care, kinship care or adoption at some point in their life.
