Brass bands are a rich and nostalgic part of the Christmas experience. However, the past few years have been really tough for the nation’s bands, the majority of whom are charities. Much like most charitable and voluntary organisations, brass bands are suffering due to the ongoing cost of living crisis, they are worried about how they’ll be able to afford the heating and lighting in their rehearsal spaces, as well as the costs of putting on concerts, travel and equipment. Brass bands play a vital role in our communities, particularly in tackling loneliness, and they really need our support, especially at Christmas!
