Theatre Royal Wakefield aims to spread the joy of the performing arts on our stage and throughout the wider community. Not everyone knows it, but we are a charity and don’t receive any regular public funding, so we rely on the generous support of people like you.

Our vibrant programme of performances has something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of music, drama, comedy or looking for something family friendly. We are also proud to present work from our local community, amateur societies and groups. 

Alongside a range of exciting shows, we run a busy Participation programme, using performing arts to enhance the lives of people across the community. We regularly work with young people, socially isolated older people, refugees and asylum seekers and adults working to improve their mental wellbeing. The support from our generous community of donors is what enables Theatre Royal Wakefield to continue this valuable work: your donation could mean extra bursary spaces at our Performance Academy, fund our annual Youth Music Theatre Production or support our weekly Conversation Café, a friendly space to meet new people and practice speaking English.
