We're still collecting donations
On the 26th July 2022 we'd raised £28,400 with 54 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

In 1915 a letter was written from WWI trenches suggesting a path for peace for all nations, now that vision is being brought to life. By purchasing one of our pledge boxes you can be part of the worlds largest commemorative project.
What are you funding for your rewards?
Why does your money matter - You will be connecting two nations and a global audience in the name of sport, education, nature and history. For every meter of the pathway, 15 people lost their lives in the First World War. Your money will ensure people from all nations, and all ages can reflect on shared human stories & reinvigorate remembrance as every single child & adult will get a more interactive experience from the Western Front. It will connect communities and reinvigorate local commerce, bring self achievement, personal challenges, sustainable travel and promote healthy activities. The legacy of peace is the thread that connects us all and must be protected.
Catherine Colonna, Ambassador to the United Kingdom, French Embassy London ‘It is a strong symbolic initiative…with combined efforts on both sides of the Channel’
Menna Rawlings, Ambassador to France, British Embassy Paris ‘It is more vital than ever that we remember our common history, and the sacrifices our countries have made together in defence of the values we share. Such projects as the Western Front Way help to bring that memory alive, and to make commemoration active and engaging, ensuring that the torch of remembrance is passed from generation to generation.
Huberta von Vos, Executive Director, Institute for Strategic Dialogue gGmbH, Germany ‘May the Western Front Way inspire cities from across Europe to revive their partnerships to meet on the road and walkd towards the same goals again: peace, freedom, democracy, human rights and a joint vision for a united Europe’
Sir Michael Morpurgo, award-winning author and WFW Ambassador ‘Passing on the history of the First World War has been done in poetry, and stories, in music and museums, and in plays and films. But here is a new way, to my mind the most beautiful way, most significant way, the creation of a path of peace, the Western Front Way.’
