We are crowdfunding for £141,000 to #StartSomethingSpecial in our community and secure the survival of our life-changing services.

Please donate to our fundraiser and help our horses transform the lives of children and adults with additional support needs.

In 2014, Scotland lost its leading centre for disabled riders, Bannockburn RDA. There was a national outcry as over 350 people lost access to a life changing community; a community that provided essential therapeutic, employment, volunteering, social and respite opportunities.

In response to the loss, Equi-Power Central Scotland Riding for the Disabled Group was established. Our vision is to #StartSomethingSpecial for the whole community; to create a new, purpose-built RDA centre of excellence in Central Scotland. A place for everyone to shine, and a legacy for the health and wellbeing of future generations. Our centre plans include facilities to deliver the therapeutic riding, vaulting, carriage driving, learning and volunteering opportunities that RDA is known for; with the addition of fully accessible play, toilet and café facilities that are open to all.

Let's hear from Amanda Namey, Group Organiser:

“For 6 years we have been developing award winning services Our Achievements from a series of temporary premises. During this time, we have investigated over 30 potential sites to support our vision of a purpose built home.

Having settled on a Stirling Council endorsed site with excellent transport links, we commissioned early technical reports and began lease negotiations. We set our sights firmly on restoring vital RDA services to the community, and bringing Equi-Power to a permanent home."

The benefits we will bring:
RDA services are not ‘nice to haves’, they are essential. We know that our activities significantly improve the physical and psychological wellbeing of children and adults with additional support needs. We reduce social isolation and offer opportunities for achievement and skills development, supporting those experiencing mental health challenges.

Let's hear from Millie.  Millie's story

Our new centre will provide:

· Opportunities to experience achievement, joy, inclusion and positive mental and physical health

· Qualified coaches encouraging sporting excellence

· A space that allows whole families to access respite time and peer support

· Employment, supported employment and volunteering opportunities for the whole community

· Education and skills development programmes

· Connection for people experiencing isolation and loneliness

· Access to the countryside for profoundly disabled individuals

·A publicly accessible Changing Places Toilet

We can’t do this on our own - we need YOUR help to #StartSomethingSpecial this December by donating to our crowd fund.

From everyone at Equi-Power – thank you!

Thank you to everyone at Equi-Power (and the horses of course) for recently making my relative's birthday so special. It meant a huge amount to us both and we had a wonderful time with you.
