There is always a reason someone is homeless, but no one should be living on the streets, people rough sleeping should never have to face a night on the streets without a safe and secure roof over their heads.
There are a number of reasons why someone would be homeless which is often out of their control which often comes down to domestic violence, poor mental health, physical illnesses, and learning disabilities, multiple debts, drug and alcohol dependencies, offending histories, survivors of sexual abuse.
Far too many people are living on the streets without support, we simply house them and very quickly these people fall back into homelessness because they are not supported with the root issues that caused them to be homeless within the first place.
We want to create an accommodation shelter that is here to provide support to those within the north east and those who face a cold night on the streets with a supportive service that is able to offer wrapped around support that reduces the risks of that person becoming homeless again.
We want to be able to purchase multiple properties to support those living on the streets. By simply providing people with bricks and mortar they will simply fall back into homelessness within weeks or months, our aim is to end the cycle of homelessness within the individuals we support, This is a cycle of repeat homelessness.
Simply providing people with housing is simply setting the person up to fail. Our aim will be to provide weekly support to every person we support from the streets, into our supported housing and onto step up housing, with each and every person who comes within our supported housing offered tailored support around homelessness, wellbeing and loneliness.
We support people with their health and wellbeing encouraging people to take part in regular wellness walks, and promotion of physical activity and participation.
LilyAnne’s Wellbeing is a charitable not-for-profit organisations that provides supported accommodation to the homeless people across the north each, We do not receive government or local authority grants towards our work and are reliant upon donations and trading activities to fund the work we carry out.
