Our short film, Initial Contact is the first step in a wider horror/thriller feature franchise, establishing its world, tone and identity.
Logline: A priest posing as a lawyer, interviews a woman accused of murdering her family, only to discover he’s speaking to a malevolent entity lurking beneath.
We are Lauren, Robin, and Eli, the producers of Initial Contact. However our team is way more than just us!
We are so excited to bring you on our journey, and this is just the beginning. Initial Contact eases you (actually more like catapults you) into our supernatural horror-psychological thriller franchise.
It's intense, claustrophobic, and tackles traumatic subject matters such a grief, guilt, and faith.
Our world will then expand into our features "Room 22" and "Clean Cut", and "Initial Contact" sits between these features chronologically.
Your support means that we can pay our Scottish cast and crew their worth and support local business such as our catering and accommodation.
We are also using sustainable props and set design, repurposed from other Scottish productions supplied by "Reset Scenery Scotland"
Your backing helps our festival run. Our cast and crew are so talented and we want to make sure we can put them forward for awards and reach audiences worldwide.
Introducing our two amazing actors:
Shaun Paul McGrath, our Protagonist Father Mark, most known for playing the role of Archibald McDonald in the TV series Carthago.
and Polina Sulim, our Antagonist Rachael, most known for her roles in Tetris and the TV series Float.
Their chemistry was immediate in the audition room,
'Initial Contact' is a supernatural horror–psychological thriller with a crime drama structure and subtle dark comedy, designed as a contained, character-led genre piece with strong franchise potential.
Support the passion and the vision that we have as grassroots filmmakers with such an international team creating films here in Scotland, become a backer.
Help support us now because you're not only helping initial contact, but you're laying the foundations to help us develop much bigger, character driven projects. Thank you.
