Guideposts is a life‑changing charity that supports people living with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, dementia, and their carers. They walk alongside people at their pace, helping them take small, steady steps to build confidence, purpose and a sense of belonging in their community.
They support people with the things that matter day to day: meaningful occupation, making friends, practical advice, talking therapies and counselling, learning life skills, developing new interests, building confidence and connecting with the community. It’s real‑life support that helps people move forward, one step at a time.
Guideposts exists because everyone deserves the support, connection and stable presence they need to feel part of life again. They fill the space where real life happens - from crisis to coping to thriving - helping people find their way back into life, not just back into services.
They help people feel more connected, more emotionally resilient, and more able to manage daily life.
They prevent crisis, reduce isolation, and ease pressure on overstretched services - creating better outcomes for individuals, families, and the wider system.
