The Zero Waste Hub for the Circular Economy in Action.
The seeds for a quiet revolution are being sown in the Zero Waste Hub which opened Dec 2021. The ZW Hub hosts four Circular Economy projects and is supporting the development of several more.
All the projects are founded on the three principles of the Circular Economy:
The ZW Hub projects are all run by volunteers.
The Cloth Nappy Library lends cloth nappy kits and supports parents in using these alternatives to disposable nappies.
Foyle Fair Trade gives customers the choice to buy a range of products in solidarity with workers’ rights throughout the world.
The Use Less Shop sells chemical-free and plastic-free household products and gives advice on making lifestyle changes which cost little or nothing.
Life Cycles rescues bikes from landfill, offers training in repairing them plus training in cycling skills.
There is a weekly peer support ZW Parenting Group Little Footprints.
And a newly launched Toy Library.
The ZW Hub also supports Repair Café Foyle which is being hosted monthly in different community venues.
All the ZW Hub projects are being run by volunteers. We are able to pay for the Hub overheads with project income but are asking for help with paying the rent.
You can get a little glimpse of the work we are doing in this video made as a thank you by the ZW Parenting team.
