Who are we?
We are Howard Lawn Tennis Club, based in Littlehampton on the lovely south coast. We have been Howard Lawn Tennis Club since 1911 however, we were created out of a predecessor club (Littlehampton Tennis Club) that had been in existence since about 1890. We are a small, local, friendly club that encourages tennis from all abilities and backgrounds with the main aim of absolute enjoyment!
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are predominantly a grass court tennis club however, we do play on hard courts in the winter. Without floodlights this obviously means limited play so we are aiming to floodlight one court. This will then hopefully, enable us to pursue floodlighting further courts in the future. This means that we can offer junior and adult coaching in the evenings of winter months plus more social play, which is what all members want.

How we’ll spend the money raised
The money will be spent in obtaining a set of temporary floodlights for one or two tennis courts.
Community impact
Whilst the floodlights will belong to a private tennis club, the coaching element is open to all, so people that participate in the coaching will all benefit from winter evening coaching.
