Aim

We are raising money for a completely new playground at West Hampstead Primary School.

Help us build a better playground

We’re investing in one of our school’s greatest strengths — our outdoor space.

In the heart of an inner-city community, we’re fortunate to have a large playground with mature trees and room for different play zones. It’s a much-loved part of school life, and now we have an exciting opportunity to make it even better for every child.

This is the second year of fundraising for the project, and thanks to the generosity of families, staff and supporters, we’ve already made a strong start. Every contribution now helps us build on that momentum and move closer to delivering a truly inclusive playground.

Our goal is to design a safe, welcoming and inspiring outdoor space that supports play, wellbeing and learning every day.

Why this matters

Our current KS1 and KS2 playground has served the school well for many years. As children’s needs have evolved, we now want to refresh the space so it can:

  • support active play and sport.
  • include quiet and calm areas.
  • be welcoming and inclusive for all children.
  • offer shade and greenery.
  • work well for different ages and needs.

This is an investment in a space used every school day by hundreds of local families and enjoyed by the wider neighbourhood.

Our goal

The cost of the playground could get up to over £200,000, depending on the final design and surfacing options. The more we raise, the more we can include.

We aim to complete the playground in Summer 2026.

How you can help

There are many ways to support the project — every contribution makes a difference.

You can support the project by:

  • donating any amount
  • sharing this page
  • asking your employer about match funding
  • taking part in fundraising activities
  • introducing a local business or sponsor

What your donation helps with

Every donation helps us add something to the playground.

For example:

  • £10–£25 helps with plants and materials
  • £50 helps with seating or play markings
  • £100 helps with inclusive play features
  • £250+ helps with larger equipment or shaded areas

These are examples — every donation helps.

Thank you

This project is led by our school community — families, staff and supporters working together to build a better playground for our children. By investing in our playground, we’re investing in children’s health, happiness and future experiences.

Every share and donation counts.
