Aim: Our Wellbeing Service at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital ensures that wellbeing support is there for many families around Sussex.

About Rockinghorse Children's Charity

We support sick babies, children and young people, along with their families, at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and The Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton and all of the specialist children’s wards and baby units throughout Sussex.

Along with hospital settings, our support also includes funding projects in other children’s settings such as specialist schools for children with learning disabilities, respite centres for children and young people with autism and challenging behaviours, and community outreach teams providing specialist support to children and families in their homes.

Wellbeing Service at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital

Our Wellbeing Service at the Royal Alex in Brighton that wellbeing support is there for hundreds of families around Sussex. Supporting a patient’s wellbeing is an incredibly important part of healthcare and actively impacts on the health outcomes of children and young people.

The Service provides a range of wellbeing activities like yoga, sea swimming, art therapy, woodland wellbeing sessions, counselling, and much much more, right where they are needed the most. This means children and their families have access to the right support, at the right time, in the right place. This funding will help us continue providing different activities to support young patients' wellbeing, making all the difference to a child’s ability to manage their treatment and make the most of their lives.

  • £100 could pay for a six week swimming course for a teenager with long-term health conditions.
  • £200 could pay for one of our drive-on vehicles for the hospital, helping children and parents manage their anxiety through surgery.
