Contemporary polymer clay jewellery - designed to make you feel fabulous.
I launched Wear With Grace in April 2020 at the very beginning of our first national lockdown. I was working full time at the local deli in Comrie, Perthshire and i'd been making jewellery in my spare time. Encouraged by friends and family I took full advantage of the creative time I gained during the lockdown and opened an Etsy shop.
I sold out my first launch, then my second and my third and very quickly Wear With Grace was outgrowing my bedroom. In July 2020 I moved into my first studio space and began a creative business course 'Creative Accelerator' run by Elevator UK.
In January 2021 I left my day job to pursue Wear With Grace full-time. This coincided with the launch of my website and online shop, with being stocked in shops, galleries and art spaces all over Scotland, with trading in venues such as the St James Quarter and the V&A and with press coverage that featured magazine covers and double page spreads.
As the brand grew, so did my appetite for all things jewellery and I applied to study a HND in Jewellery and Arts Technology at City of Glasgow College. In August 2021 I relocated from Comrie, Perthshire to begin the course in Glasgow. Wear With Grace HQ is now a beautiful warehouse studio in the East End of the city.
Creative Scotland Crowdmatch
I'm delighted that Wear With Grace has been selected as part of Creative Scotland Crowdmatch competition - I am one of 20 shortlisted creative projects in Scotland - that have the opportunity to win a share of £80,000 in match funding, up to £10,000 per project.
The funding is released in milestones and on a first come first serve basis. By pledging you are helping me in taking the next step for my small business.
Wear With Grace's signature style is the hoop earring. I make them in almost every size, colour and style. There is literally a pair for everyone.
Wear With Grace is all about the way wearing jewellery makes you feel. I truly believe that hoop earrings bring some kind of power to the wearer. Jewellery plays a part in what you choose to say about yourself to the world and Wear With Grace embraces the theatrical element of that.
"If it makes you feel fabulous. Wear it."
My background is in theatre design and that has translated through the way I market and photograph my jewellery. Because I launched at a time when no one could shop in person I had to rely on Wear With Grace's visual presence and product photography to succeed. I was creating customer relationships solely online using instagram, facebook and my website, so my photography was absolutely key.
The Vision
Think twiggy meets retro advertising. This shoot is to be hoop earrings like you have never seen them worn before. I want this campaign to be big, bold, fabulous and to capture the essence of Wear With Grace the brand.
When I say they are designed to make you feel fabulous, they are. It is an energy, it’s a feeling that you get when you Wear With Grace. There is something theatrical about my jewellery and the brand. There is a hoop in every size, in every colour and every pattern and the vision for this shoot is to capture this.
The Team
To make my vision a reality I will need to work alongside a team of creative professionals. This team will be predominantly made up of woman and non binary people. Wear With Grace makes an earring for everyone and this will be at the heart of my first photoshoot.
This campaign hopes to raise enough funds to employ:
- 6 models
- A Photographer
- A Videographer and a small production team
- A Make-up artist
- A Stylist
- A runner or two
The money raised will also pay for a venue, costumes, set and props.
By pledging not only are you supporting me and my small business, but you will also be supporting the wider creative community.
From the moment I launched Wear With Grace I have been surrounded by an amazing community. Today I need your help in taking the next step with my small business in making this shoot a reality. I hope you will pledge big or small and become a fabulous friend of Wear With Grace.
