Rob Casey is fundraising for
The Water Conservation Trust CIO
Charity No. 1199697

£480
Registered charity River Holme Connections have agreed to plant 12 trees a year for Water Conservators Company and Water Conservation Trust at an initial cost of £400 per annum rising each year with inflation to compensate for the combined carbon footprint for both the Company and Trust (including investments). This combined footprint is small at around 40-45 tonnes CO2e per annum and close to minimal levels without fundamentally changing the nature of Company and Trust activities.
Rather than funding a commercial offsetting site, it was agreed by the WCWC Court and WCT Trustees that it would be more appropriate for us to fund the tree planting currently underway at River Holme Connections, raised by donations from Company members and WCT Trustees. This would be most appropriate for us as we would be funding something that was associated with an improved river environment.
Based on figures from commercial sites such as “Make It Wild” by planting 12 trees a year we could compensate for a carbon footprint of 42 tonnes per annum. These trees should mature within 10-15 years meaning we would be “Net Zero” before the City Corporation’s target for the Square Mile of 2040.
Please donate via this fund raising page if you would like to support the scheme.
