We're still collecting donations
On the 19th April 2023 we'd raised £1,040 with 12 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
A warm space to keep our community warm and well through community meals, heated spaces and access to support for the cost-of-living crisis.

The Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre has been working with people since 1906. Now based at Odsal, in a purpose built centre, we are a focal point for the local community, serving a footfall of 20,000+ per year. We serve many people from disadvantaged areas and pockets of deprivation and see first-hand the devastation the cost-of-living crisis is creating.
Since the covid pandemic and beyond, we’ve seen a massive increase in the number of people struggling to keep warm, pay bills or put food on the table. Targeting our most disadvantaged areas, we’d like to reach out to these people by offering a Warm & Well Hub to help these people through tough times.
" [Sedbergh is} a local community asset that is striving to support the local community. Give it a go. Could be just what’s needed." - Richard
With energy and food prices rocketing, people are struggling more than ever.
At the moment, we lead a neccessary project delivering activities, sports and support resources that help people live happier, healthier lives.
Thanks to a recent donation from the Neighbourly Warm Communities Fund we've been able to set up a short-term (monthly) luncheon club for clients who are isolated and struggling, where they can come to keep warm and have a nice meal. From this club there is an opportunity to access other activity sessions and perhaps more importantly to access help and support with claiming benefit entitlements, utility deals, foodbank vouchers and assistance with form-filling.
It is really important that we are able to help our clients for longer and that we are able to reach out to more people in the community who are struggling. The Warm & Well Hub will enable us to extend the luncheon club to a year-long project and to deliver outreach work to encourage more people to come along and benefit.
We will:
We are an experienced team of 5 staff led by a team of dedicated trustees and management committee. Community focused, we always have people's best interests at heart and offer a more holistic approach than most. We have been working with our community for many years so understand what support or help is needed in the local area.
The money we raise will pay for nine Warm & Well Hubs (one per month) and additional outreach work. This will extend our current luncheon club to one year.
