To welcome all visitors to Warm&Cosy@CMC into a warm & cosy setting, whether to find warmth, meet up for a coffee, or just for company.

 New stretch target

Once we have started to create our cosy, welcoming corner with some sofas, chairs, low coffee tables and floor plants, then we would like to continue the development of the rest of the hall with a variety of other tables and chairs for hot drinks and 'lite bites', the smell of coffee(!), art on the walls, a frame TV, lovely lighting...

At Chepstow Methodist Church, our mission is to be 'A Worshipping Church AT the Heart and WITH a Heart for the Community'. We are caring and supportive and are known for our warm hospitality. As well as regular worship, our Beacon Café opens its doors 3 mornings a week offering drinks and homemade food and, possibly more important, it extends an amazing caring welcome for whoever comes through the door, often feeding (for free) and providing sleeping bags and other needs (eg showering facilities) for homeless and other vulnerable people. We also have a Toddler Group, a thriving Boy/Girls Brigade and we welcome a number of other community groups to use our rooms. Since the start of December, we also have our 'Warm&Cosy@CMC' Warm Space on Thursday and Friday mornings - to simply offer a warm welcome…essentially a warm ‘physical’ space but also a lovely warm ’welcome’ space for anyone who just wants a chat and some company. There are also facilities to charge a mobile phone, use free wifi, read books, magazines or newspapers, play table games. Our loyal team of volunteers offer free hot drinks and biscuits (sometimes cake as well!) and a friendly face, chat and companionship.
We are fortunate to have a good-sized room for this hospitality BUT...do we provide anything to entice people in? From looking in, it's just a Church Hall with folding tables - regardless of the warm caring welcome if they do eventually venture in; there's little personality.....and WE WANT TO DO BETTER THAN THAT!

Our care for those who come in to Beacon and Warm Space is our ‘Unique Selling Point’ and we want to be able to match that with being able to offer a warm, cosy and welcoming environment - starting with an area with comfy sofas and chairs with low coffee tables for coffee and chat and then, hopefully, developing the rest of the hall with a variety of other tables and chairs for hot drinks and 'lite bites', the smell of coffee(!), art on the walls, a frame TV, lovely lighting...and, as time goes on, invite access to agencies eg. to support mental wellbeing, budgeting advice, help with readingany other groups who would look forward to holding their events in warm, cosy surroundings.

Geographically, we ARE AT the heart of the community and we HAVE A REAL heart for the community...now we want to welcome our community into a safe, warm and REALLY COSY environment!
