Building Community, Bringing Hope We’re a vibrant and relevant church with a passion for people to find hope and know Jesus. Through our Assist project, we support people when life feels tough — offering a listening ear, practical guidance, wellbeing and dementia support, and help connecting to other services, so no one has to face difficult moments alone. Through our TTT and TST projects, we provide youth drop-in sessions and children’s activities, creating safe, welcoming spaces for young people to grow and belong. We also run the village library, serving as a hub for connection, learning, and community life. At heart, we are a church at the centre of the community.

The Vine Community Church & Assist
We’re a local church based in Cherry Willingham, serving our villages and the wider community.
Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are very welcome here.
Each Sunday we gather to worship God, learn from the Bible, pray together, and encourage one another. Our services are relaxed and friendly, with contemporary worship and practical teaching that connects faith with everyday life.
But church is more than Sundays.
Throughout the week, the Vine Centre becomes a hub of activity with children and youth groups, community support initiatives, social gatherings, and opportunities to serve.

We are also privileged to run and host the local community library, creating a welcoming space for people of all ages to connect, learn, and access resources right at the heart of the village.

From young children finding a safe and fun place to grow, to older adults discovering friendship and support, the Vine Centre is a place where community happens.

Our hope is simple: that people would discover the hope of Jesus, grow in faith, and find a place to belong.
Meet Assist – Supporting People When Life Is Hard
Out of that heart for the community, Assist was created.
Assist is a compassionate, volunteer-led service supporting people through some of life’s most difficult moments.
We walk alongside people facing:
- Isolation and loneliness
- Bereavement and grief
- Anxiety and emotional struggles
- Recovery after illness or life disruption
We offer:
- A listening ear
- Practical support
- Friendship and community
- Wellbeing and Dementia support groups
- Help connecting into local services
Everything we do is about helping people feel seen, supported, and not alone.

A Real Story
One local resident was referred to Assist after a period of illness left them feeling isolated and struggling to cope day to day.
Through regular visits, practical support, and simply having someone to talk to, they began to rebuild confidence and reconnect with others. Over time, they were able to attend a community group, form new friendships, and regain a sense of purpose.
Stories like this are not unusual — they are at the heart of what Assist exists to do.

Why This Matters
In our local area, many people are quietly struggling.
Some feel isolated.
Some are overwhelmed.
Some simply don’t know where to turn.
At the same time, children and young people need safe spaces to belong, grow, and be encouraged and communities need shared places, like libraries and community hubs, where people can come together.
Assist and the wider work of the Vine Community Church exist to meet these needs offering not just help, but hope.
Because we are volunteer-led, every pound given goes a long way in supporting real people in real situations.
