7th April 2017THANK YOU, ACCOUNTS AND POLL
Hi All,
We want to thank you again for your support of Unite for Europe’s National March to Parliament on 25 March 2017. Your donations allowed us to organise the world’s largest celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and the UK showed its continued passion for membership of the EU.
Police estimate 100,000 people were in attendance with esteemed MPs, MEPs, activists, Party Leaders and members of the public giving voice to the remain movement. We will not be silenced. Our voices will be heard. We do not consent to Brexit and we will continue this fight.
We are proud of the part we played in making this event a reality and you should be too. The money spent on advertising created a buzz that successfully increased attendance to the event. Advertising we organised included:
- A mobile billboard campaign of 4 vans covering London for 1 week
- 7 national newspapers ads (5 in the New European; 2 in The Guardian)
- A national online advertising campaign (Facebook and Google)
- Creation of content (videos, etc.), including paid boosts across social media
- A national leafleting campaign
One of our Crowdfunder pledges was to give our backers transparency of our accounts when this process concluded. Due to the amount that was ultimately raised we decided that releasing invoices would not be a sufficient level of transparency and have thus engaged chartered accountants to complete an Independent Financial Review of our accounts. We are happy to announce that today their report is available to our backers. All backers will receive another message directly from Dropbox with a link to the report shortly. Data protection laws apply and the accountant has been explicit that this document is only for distribution to the backers and only to be read by the backers and cannot be shared to third parties.
Another of our pledges was to pass any remaining funds to a subsequent pro-EU initiative or make a charitable donation. We have arranged a poll which will allow backers to vote on 7 options to receive the £2,936 remaining funds. To access our poll please email [email protected] and request a link.
The poll is only available to our backers and each backer will only be able to vote once – the link sent will expire after use. Please include the forename, surname and email under which you made the donation, the amount of your donation and, if possible, the date of your donation. This will allow us to find your donation in our records and confirm you donated before inviting you to take our poll. We will leave the poll open until 14 April 2017 so please request a link with enough time for us to process your request and for you to vote. The poll results can be viewed live but we will post an update on the winner after voting closes.
Thanks again for being part of the largest pro-EU demonstration the UK has ever seen. The success of the National March for Parliament is now forever etched in history, we should all be proud of this achievement.
Best wishes,
Unite for Europe

8th April 2017A poll for the crowdfunders now proposes seven options for crowdfunders to decide where the surplus money raised should go. Please clarify the first option. Which Unite For Europe does that first option refer to? The Unite for Europe original organising team with the UFE Ltd company set up mid Feb (Companies House: UFE 10623946)? Or The Unite for Europe company set up mid March by Keiran MacDermott (Companies House: UNITE FOR EUROPE LTD 10666636)?
