Up to 2 million people have already fled Ukraine. Help Refugee Education UK support Ukrainian children and young people to access education support.
The danger, trauma and injustice the people of Ukraine are experiencing is extremely severe. We want to be in the best position possible to respond to their needs, as and when they arrive in the UK
Education can be a lifeline for refugees. It provides children with knowledge and skills, enhances their psychosocial wellbeing, and has the potential to transform and propel communities. We want to make sure these benefits are available to the people of Ukraine.

How will we work with new arrivals?
Provide tailored 1:1 Wellbeing and Mentoring support for Ukrainian refugees
Over the next 6 months, we are expecting a large number of Ukrainian referrals to our wellbeing and mentoring programmes, and have already began to receive inquiries to our education advice line. If we wait until they arrive, it will be too late to respond in the most effective way. Our programmes are almost at capacity, but we need to grow to meet the expected need. Ukrainian refugees arriving in the UK deserve informed staff and trained mentors to be by their side as they work through what is happening.
Provide free education advice and guidance for refugees so they can enter the education system in the UK.
Many Ukrainian young people who will arrive in the UK may not be supported by their local authority, but will want to benefit from or continue their education. With your help we support the entry of Ukrainian refugee children and young people into the UK education system, as and when they arrive.
Our trained team can provide accurate information, guidance and advice direct to Ukrainian refugees so they can get back into education and help them rebuild their lives.
We will also translate our refugee welcome packs into Ukrainian and distribute them to Ukrainian families, associations and schools across the country. We produced and distributed 3000 packs to Afghans and those supporting them and have the infrastructure to do the same for Ukrainian refugees. We need financial support to translate, adjust and distribute the packs.
Thank you so much for your support.
The situation is still developing, but we'll make sure your donation is used where the need is greatest. Please give generously so we can respond in a positive and hopeful way to this terrible situation. Thank you.
