Two Pints Deep was my magic feeling. I opened up about the death of my mum for the first time after suppressing my true feelings, hiding them from my family and carrying on as if nothing had happened.

I had never struggled with my mental health before. I was now overwhelmed with social anxiety and going through many bouts of depression.

What I didn't realise is that the feelings I was feeling were common. Lots of other people suffer the way that I do. I'm not strange.

Why didn't I realise that?! Men don't talk enough about how we feel. We never have.

13 men a day in the UK die as a cause of their mental health.

Something needs to change.

Two Pints Deep (@TwoPintsDeep on Instagram) are a suicide prevention charity with a focus on men's mental health . They aim to lower the male suicide statistics by encouraging conversation and removing the negative stigma around vulnerability in men. Their goals include increasing the accessibility to local and national support groups, providing a network for men to find common ground in their struggles and leading the charge in championing the journeys of 'the average lad'.

We have just completed our charity registration. Everything so far has been funded out of our own pocket & generous fundraisers, and we are looking for a little extra support to help continue to fund our community projects around the UK. These include a Beer Mat Campaign, Mental Health Awareness Events and Sponsoring Bridges around the UK with a "Building Bridges" campaign. 

These are all with the aim of starting conversations for men, embracing vulnerabilities and attacking the male suicide statistics.
