Bringing Back the Spirit of the 60s – With Your Help!
Picture it: Church Street transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, alive with the sights and sounds of the swinging 60s. On Sunday 17th August 2025, from noon to 5pm, we’re inviting everyone to join us for Twickenham 60s Day—a vibrant street party celebrating Twickenham's incredible music heritage and marking 25 years of The Eel Pie Club.
As you wander down the street, shopfronts burst with retro flair, adorned with bold displays and fluttering tie-dye peace flags. A DJ spins vinyl alongside Snax Cafe, framed by go-go dancer booths, setting the groove for the afternoon. Further along, a kids’ zone delights families with chalk art, 60s photo boards, and themed activities.
You’ll find flower crowns and hippy candles at local stalls, with the chance to sign up for a guided walking tour exploring Church Street's film and music past, while in Church Street Square, Mod Vespas line up in tribute to the iconic style.
🎤 The Music!
At the heart of the day is the main stage, where five incredible live bands will perform the unforgettable music of the 60s.
🎸 The Eel Pie All-Stars - Our headline act, made up of legendary musicians from some of the greatest bands of the era.
🎸 The 60's All-Stars - Members of iconic 1960s Bands, including The Kinks, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Foundations, Robert Plant and Ben E King.
🎸 The Carnaby Army - Bringing the 60s to life with their electrifying live performances.
🎸 The Terraplanes - With a sound echoing the 1960's British R&B bands with a heavy dose of Mississippi Delta Blues.
🎸 Uncle Dynamite - Young 60s/70s Rock Band from The Basement Door who recently won the Chiswick School Battle of The Bands.
Their sets will be the highlight of the day, drawing together generations to dance, sing, and celebrate. Local shops, organisations, restaurants and bars are all getting involved - decorating, dressing up, and serving out front in true 60s spirit. It’s a celebration of culture, creativity, and community—and we’d love your support to make it happen.
There will be an exclusive, intimate, acoustic set at Brewery Market at 5pm and the buzz continues with live 60s music into the night at The Eel Pie Pub and The Fox.

💷 Why We’re Crowdfunding
We’re not just putting on a festival—we’re bringing back a piece of Twickenham’s soul. The 60s were a defining time here, from the legendary gigs on Eel Pie Island to the characters who shaped the era’s sound. And for the past 25 years, The Eel Pie Club has kept that spirit alive. Now, we want to honour it with our biggest celebration yet—and we’re asking for your help to raise £5,000 to cover the core costs of bringing the event to life.
This is a community-powered event—not a commercial one. We’re working hard to keep costs down, but we need £5,000 to cover the essential infrastructure that makes the event possible, including staging, sound, security and safety.
This crowdfunder will form the foundation of our funding.
We’ll also raise additional funds through:
- Raffle ticket sales ( Swinging 60s Bus Tour for up to 7 people of 60s Richmond Music Heritage Sites, 5 pairs of tickets to the Eel Pie Club +1 Year Membership + lots of gift vouchers from Church Street Businesses!
- Local business sponsorship
- In-kind volunteer and venue support
