This ambitious project is designed to secure the future of Truro Rugby Football Club. The club has a large number of participating members including two senior rugby teams, women's & ladies rugby, touch rugby and a strong and vibrant youth section. The current facilities are tired and in some cases approaching the end of their useful life. The clubhouse requires a major refurbishment if it is to remain and grow as the community resource which it undoubtedly is at present.
The principal aims of the project are:
Our vision is provide a 21st century community resource with the flexibility to be a major sporting facility as well as the ability to host key local events.

This crowfunding site is specifically aimed at delivering phase 1 and 2 of our 'For for the Future' project.
The start date for the first two phases has been fixed for the week after the end of the main Rugby Union season at the club, with the works to be completed before the beginning of the 2022/23 season in September.
These vital funds will ensure we reach our £240,000 target for the end of the season, and will build upon the momentum from funds that have already been secured (e.g. £27,000 from the sponsored John O'Groats to Lands End bike ride, existing club reserves, pending RFU loan and a Covid Bounce Back loan)
Current changing room, which are small and don't have ensuite facilities
The last 18 months have been particularly hard for the club, with Covid-19 forcing the cancellation of training and matches throughout the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons.
This lost of income, coupled with increases in our running costs means that it’s really important that we invest in our facilities so we can continue to be a hub for bringing people together and ensure Truro Rugby Football Club remains at the heart of the local community.
Plans for new changing facilities which have already been formally approved by the RFU will make the club a much greater attraction for all our members, particularly women and girls who wish to play rugby. This significant increase in available changing room space will ensure we can accommodate multiple teams on match days, sustaining and increasing participation. It will also provide a comfortable amount of space from a social distancing point of view giving individuals additional confidence.
“Truro Rugby Club is a necessary part of the sporting community in Truro, it has provided for many groups over the years. I've attended matches, bonfire nights, weddings and funeral wakes. Not necessarily in that order. I said when I become mayor I wanted to include all groups in all decisions, and the new design does include all groups. So, it has my full support and the community and Truro will be better served once it is completed.”
Steven Webb - Mayor of Truro
“I am more than happy to support Truro Rugby Club in their aspirations to expand their offer to the local community and increase diversity as they aspire to excel at Rugby Football both locally and further afield. The club offer a great resource for competitive sport, health and wellbeing, and social activities, and I whole heartedly welcome their efforts to aspire to be a bigger, better, and more successful Rugby club in our area.”
Loic J Rich – Local Councillor

The proposals will support future growth of an important part of our sports community in Truro - we're excited to see plans for growing a diverse membership of all ages and backgrounds. Investing in clubhouse facilities will also provide a high-quality event space at the heart of the community.
Truro Town Deal's vision is to drive transformational investment into our connecting and thriving city, and TRFC certainly shares our aspiration for that. We look forward to future partnership working."
