Tour de Mentia: 330km for Alzheimer's Society

Aim: I'm raising money to help everyone who is affected by Dementia - those who suffer, those who support and those who research.

Alzheimer's Society reports:

• 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia
• 1.4 million people are expected to be living with dementia by 204
• Dementia is the UK's biggest health and social care crisis

On 2nd July I will be part of an Aviva team cycling from Rochester to Weston Super Mare.  Starting at dawn, we are aiming to "Chase the Sun" covering 330km to reach our destination by dusk.   In a neat twist, this is one kilometre for each year of Aviva's history.   

It will be my longest-ever day in the saddle.  Challenge aside, the team is looking to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.   My own personal motivation is memories of my old man, whose latter years were overshadowed by dementia, and recognition of the challenge that this represents for many people today.
