We are the Truro RFC girls & we want to help our club raise money to build new changing rooms so we don't have to share with smelly boys!
Aim: Raise funds to build changing facilities for the girls of Truro RFC.
We are Cornish girls aged 12 -18 who believe that rugby is a universal and accessible sport. Every shape, every size, every creed and colour. It truly is for "One and All".
We started our rugby journey in 2019 with only 6 players. We now have almost 60 enthusiastic, motivated and committed girls.
We are growing and Truro RFC wants to grow with us. Their principle aim is "to expand the clubs membership, particularly when it comes to the girls and women's sides."
Growing from strength to strength, we provide 21st century diversity and TRFC want to support us with inclusivity: Providing appropriate facilities to accommodate the growing number of women and girls taking up rugby, the greatest of the sports.
How can we, TRFC Tigresses, help?
We are going to run 1000 dune sprints in one day on Perranporth Beach in May 2022.
Dune sprints are some of the toughest fitness training we do. The increasing incline, the soft sand giving way under your feet, the relentless sound of the whistle telling you you've got to go again. It's hard, it takes guts, commitment and determination but we are going to do it to raise money and make the club we love "fit for the future"
And for every 10% over our target we'll do an additional 10% of dune sprints (up to 1500, we don't want to end up in hospital!)
