Aim

Support Madalitso Band’s 2026 Madalitso Experience—film + live show—powering travel, visas, fair wages, and free youth banjo workshops.

The Madalitso Experience is a 2026 global rollout built around The Banjo Boys—the award-winning documentary directed by Johan Nayar and fresh from Glastonbury and a BBC special report. The film won the Audience Award at the London Breeze Film Festival (Riverside Studios). “Madalitso” is from Malawi and means “The Gift” in Chichewa.  This hybrid event pairs screenings of The Banjo Boys with a full live concert by Madalitso Band, turning their gift for joy into unforgettable community gatherings.

This Crowdfunder covers the essentials that make each show possible: international travel, visas, fair artist wages and per diems, production and backline, accessible venues, translation/ASL where needed, and modest marketing so communities can find us. We’ll also deliver free youth workshops—especially for girls—teaching music, storytelling, rhythm, and DIY instrument-making. Along the route, we will document the journey with you and share open resources with schools, festivals, and cultural spaces.

Your support helps book the next stage, reach underserved audiences, and amplify Malawi’s creative voice worldwide—one flight, one rehearsal, one joyful performance at a time. We are committed to fair-trade practices, environmental responsibility, social justice, community-led partnerships at every stop, and full transparency—Zikomo (thank you) for believing in the music and the movement.
