At The Listening Place we provide free, ongoing, face-to-face support to people who feel life is no longer worth living. Our support is delivered by our team of 800 volunteers, who support our visitors at fortnightly in-person appointments at our three London sites, for as long as it takes to reduce their suicidal feelings. We currently support up to 8,000 people a year.
In 2025 we are opening our fourth support site, giving us capacity to support an additional 2,500 suicidal people annually. The new site, located close to Liverpool Street in the City of London, requires a full renovation and fit-out. A key part of this will be securing and installing computers for our team to use during shifts, to respond to referrals to our service, schedule and reschedule appointments, communicate with visitors and log appointment notes.
£4,998 would fully fund the purchase and set-up of seven computers for the site, providing us with a much-needed resource, which we would use 12 hours a day, seven days a week, to support our visitors. This cost includes setting each computer up on our internal secure network, ensuring that all data we hold on visitors is kept securely within the charity.
By supporting this project you will be helping us to continue to grow our much needed support for people in London who feel life is no longer worth living.
