Aim: We collect good quality surplus food from local stores and store safely to give away the next day. We also distribute food from donations.

The Hertford Pantry is a fantastic collaboration of organisations and individuals which aims to reduce food waste and support local Hertford residents with good quality free food.

The original funding came from the Hubbub and Co-op joint 'Community Fridge' campaign, which was applied for by the Community Alliance Broxbourne and East Herts.

Network Homes provide the premises in which the food storage and distribution is situated in the Sele Farm shops.

Deborah Bonfield owner of Manic Ceramics and founder of Hertfood has been providing food parcels to local families in need throughout the pandemic. Through her business she has built an extensive local network of families and friends, who are both customers and volunteers who run The Hertford Pantry.

The Pantry has been open for 1 hour ,3 days per week and in the first 3 months has handed out more than 2,000 bags of food.
