We're still collecting donations
On the 26th April 2022 we'd raised £25,636 with 114 supporters in 49 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Save our diving squad! No home pool since lockdown, mounting pool hire fees, talented kids who need your help to pursue their dreams.
On the 26th April 2022 we'd raised £25,636 with 114 supporters in 49 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Any funding raised by The Friends of Crystal Palace Diving club will be used to support the competitive squad with their mounting additional pool hire fees & travelling expenses. Further down the line we hope to be able to help support families with bursaries who struggle to pay for their children to take part in the diving programme.
WHO WE ARE
Our squad, the competitive squad from Crystal Palace Diving Club have each dedicated many years to their training, they are hard working and resilient, collectively they have travelled thousands of miles to train in Tunbridge Wells, Southend, Southampton and Stratford. These children are medalists at National Skills, National Age Groups, Junior Elites and we really believe that with support that some of them will go on to represent their country.
WHAT WILL YOUR DONATION BE USED FOR?
The Friends of Crystal Palace Diving Club is a non profit organisation. All funds are used solely for the purpose of additional squad overheads
Long term, we hope that if we can raise enough funding FOCPDC will also be able to support some younger divers whose families simply can't afford the fees.
WHY ARE WE FUNDRAISING
During the first lockdown it was discovered that the pool at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre had major structural issues that need repair. Whilst the Mayor has agreed funding for this, the project could take many months, years perhaps.
Dive pool hire is expensive as is travelling to so many different centres for training. With no home pool the costs are mounting. Our training fees have increased. Even with increased fees paid by each diver, the squad faces a deficit in funding of close to £20,000 this year.
ABOUT THE CLUB
The dive programme at Crystal Palace as a nationally important programme, training 11 Olympians so far. Our squad hope that if we can survive our children will inspire many more young divers in and around London to follow their dreams. In turn we can also help to rebuild Crystal Palace Diving Club who against the odds are still training young divers and talent testing all around London Schools.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
By making a small contribution, even just £1, you will be making a huge difference to children that have dedicated many years and hours to this sport. You will be helping to realise the dreams of our squad, to inspire a new generation of divers and in turn this will support a club that has been part of the Crystal Palace community for more than 30 years.
Covid and the lockdowns have been brutal to the club, but with your support we can rebuild.
Every donation helps, every pound makes a difference.
