Who are we?

Altofts Juniors AFC is a volunteer-run grassroots football club at the heart of the Altofts community in West Yorkshire.

We currently support approximately 360 young players across 24 teams, providing opportunities for boys and girls from Under-6s through to Under-18s to enjoy football, develop their skills, build friendships and stay active.

Our club is about much more than football. It's about teamwork, confidence, respect and giving young people somewhere they feel they belong.

Behind every training session and match is a dedicated group of volunteer coaches, managers, committee members and parents who give their time to make it all possible.

We're proud of what we've achieved, but as our club continues to develop, we want to ensure our pitches and facilities can provide the best possible environment for our players.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our club has grown, but our facilities need investment to keep up.

With hundreds of children playing football every week, our pitches and facilities experience considerable use throughout the season.

Maintaining good-quality playing surfaces, providing suitable equipment and improving the facilities available to players, coaches, families and visiting teams all require ongoing investment.

Like many grassroots clubs, we operate on limited resources and rely heavily on volunteers, fundraising and the generosity of our community.

We want to make meaningful improvements to our existing facilities, helping to create safer, more welcoming and enjoyable places for children to play football.

We're also looking to the future. With growing interest in grassroots football, particularly the girls' game, we want to make sure Altofts Juniors can continue welcoming young players for generations to come.

That's why we're asking our community to get behind us.

How we'll spend the money raised

The money raised through this campaign will be invested in improving the existing pitches and facilities used by Altofts Juniors AFC.

Our proposed priorities include:

  • Pitch improvements and maintenance: Improving playing surfaces, repairing worn areas and supporting work that helps keep pitches in good condition throughout the season.

  • Football equipment and facilities: Improving goals, pitch equipment and other essential items needed to provide a safe and enjoyable football experience.

  • Storage and practical improvements: Providing better facilities for storing and maintaining the equipment our volunteer coaches use every week.

  • Player and spectator facilities: Supporting improvements to the matchday environment, accessibility and basic amenities for players, officials, families and visitors.

Funds will be allocated to agreed priorities according to the amount raised, confirmed costs and any necessary permissions.

We want every donation to make a real difference, whether that helps us complete a particular improvement or contributes towards a larger programme of works.

We will keep supporters updated on our progress and explain how the money is being spent.

Community impact

Grassroots football is about much more than what happens on the pitch.

For hundreds of local children, Altofts Juniors provides an opportunity to be active, make friends, develop confidence and learn valuable life skills.

For families, it creates friendships and connections across the community. For volunteers, it provides an opportunity to contribute to something worthwhile and help the next generation.

Improving our facilities will benefit not only today's players but also the many children who will join the club in future years.

Better pitches and facilities will help us:

  • Provide safer and more enjoyable football experiences.

  • Support the continued growth of boys' and girls' football.

  • Encourage more young people to participate in sport.

  • Improve the experience for families, supporters and visiting teams.

  • Strengthen the club's long-term future within the Altofts community.

Our ambition is simple: to give every child the opportunity to enjoy football in an environment they can be proud of.

With your help, we can make that ambition a reality.

How you can play your part

We need the support of our local community to help make these improvements happen.

There are four ways you can get involved:

Make a donation. Whether it's £5, £10, £20 or more, every contribution helps us move closer to our goal.

Spread the word. Share our Crowdfunder page with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. The more people we reach, the more we can achieve.

Support us as a local business. We're keen to involve local businesses that would like to support grassroots football, whether through donations, sponsorship or contributing prizes and rewards.

Fundraise for us. Organise a sponsored challenge, workplace fundraiser or community event. Every little bit helps!

Together, we can make a difference.

Altofts Juniors has always been built on the commitment and generosity of our community.

Now we're asking for your support to help improve the places where our children train, play, learn and make memories.

Every donation brings us one step closer to better pitches, better facilities and a brighter future for Altofts Juniors AFC.

Thank you for supporting our club.
