WHAT WE DO
We support those who are experiencing homelessness or poverty, creating the right links in the local community to help those in need. Transition Homeless Project is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable adults and young people experiencing poverty, we put preventative measures in place to prevent anyone becoming homeless.
Essential Needs - Providing hot meals with a weekly soup kitchen feeding the local community who can not afford a meal for themselves.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
We offer a pathway to independence with the right training and career guidance to help individuals find employment. Our Transition Programme develops skills, career development training and guidance towards employment.
We recognise individuals' life experiences, and transferable skills, providing assistance with cv writing and interview skills. We then carefully map out skills against specific jobs and offer continuous support and communication until suitable employment is found.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP?
Homelessness is not just a static or issue that affects others, it can affect anyone at any stage of their life. Our mission is to understand the diverse forms of homelessness so we can foster an engaging and inclusive service to those in need.
As the cost-of-living and energy prices continue to rise, it has been extremely challenging for families, couples and single people. The excessive rise in fuel, food, utilities, mortgage rates and rental costs have left families struggling to make ends meet. Transition Homeless project recognises the needs within the community; homelessness on the streets has increased and there are more people begging especially in Town Centres and surrounding streets.
Unfortunately, homelessness in London is increasing, there are 187,000 homeless people in London (Shelter December 2024).The demand for services providing a hot meal, food banks and advise is growing extensively.
Across English regions and Wales, the highest percentage of people identified as homeless was in London; 24.8% of all people identified as homeless were located in this region (3,460 people). Office of National Statistics.
