Streatham Common Paddling Pool

Aim

To help fund the Paddling Pool so it can be opened to the public this summer

SCCoop do not have the resources to open the Paddling pool this year so we are calling for support from the community to raise the funds required to enable the pool to be opened for the community this summer.

I'm setting the target for this campagn at £10,000, but in reality it’s going to cost in the region of £25,000 to get the paddling pool up and running this summer. This would cover the cost of the water, some much needed repairs, general maintenance and provide a staff member to maintain the pool throughout the season.

In the past, SCCoop have manged to keep the pool open in some capacity by crowd funding and some support from Lambeth Council. Unfortunately budget and staffing restraints means that neither of them can support the pool this summer.

 We feel that this is a valuable resource for the community providing a free facility for families during the cost of living crisis and it would be a shame if it could not be available to visitors to the common.

So, if you use the pool, or have used the pool for your children or grandchildren in the past, and would like to see it continue to open, please pledge your donation, as little or as much as you can afford, and help keep this lovely community amenity open for everyone in the future.

This probably won't be the end of the fundraising, but if we can reach this target then it will help keep it open in years to come.
