Help Stoke to Bloom All Year Round

Aim

Help us improve Stoke’s green spaces, support biodiversity, and bring people together to make our shared spaces greener, more welcoming.

Stoke in Bloom is a volunteer-led Community Interest Company making Stoke greener, more welcoming and more connected. Since 2022, local residents have worked together to improve shared spaces, support biodiversity and create opportunities for people to take practical action for their local environment.

We're raising £2,500 from our community to continue our work.

If we raise £2,500 towards our £5,000 target, Plymouth City Council's City Change Fund will provide a further £2,500 in match funding.

That means we can put £5,000 into Stoke's green spaces, biodiversity and community activities.

What will the money fund?

Greening Stoke

Plants, bulbs, compost, soil improvement, hanging baskets, community planters, wildlife-friendly planting and the materials our volunteers need to improve and maintain Stoke's shared green spaces such as The Village Square, The North Bank of Blockhouse Park, and Pasley Pocket Park.

Mini Gardeners

Free nature and gardening sessions for children and families, with hands-on activities that help children learn about growing, biodiversity and caring for the environment. We provide free lunches for both the children and their grown-ups in our free sessions, to make sure cost isn't a barrier to taking part, and everyone leaves with smiley faces and full bellies.

Big Gardeners

Free sessions for adults providing social opportunities to learn practical gardening and environmental skills, share knowledge and get involved in caring for Stoke's green spaces.

Seasonal public spaces

Reusable decorations, lighting, the Stoke Village Christmas tree and other improvements that help make our shared spaces welcoming and enjoyable throughout the whole year.

Community action

Our volunteers give their time and skills to make all of this happen. Your donation helps provide the materials and infrastructure that turn that community effort into lasting improvements.

Why it matters

Greener neighbourhoods are better for people, and better for wildlife.

By improving existing green infrastructure, increasing biodiversity, supporting nature recovery and creating more opportunities for residents to connect with nature, we're helping Stoke respond to climate change while creating places people can enjoy and be proud of.

And by keeping our activities free, we're making sure everyone can take part, whatever their circumstances.

Every donation, whatever the size, helps us get closer to our target – and continues our work in Stoke.
