Help our choir travel to The Isle of Wight to host a charity concert aid of Mountbatten Hospice
Our lovely choir member Astrid, a former Isle of Wight resident has invited The Springfield Singers to host a charity fundraiser at The Church of St. Saviour-on-the-Cliff, Shanklin, Isle of Wight. The Lydney based choir will also share the stage with a small brass ensemble of local players and young soloist Gemma, also from the Forest of Dean. The charity concert on Saturday 10th April 2027 will raise much needed funds for Mountbatten Hospice.
As the cost of living continues to rise, some of our choir members may be unable to take part without financial support. Your generosity will enable them to join us at The Church of St. Saviour-on-the-Cliff for a special performance to raise both funds and awareness for Mountbatten Hospice.
The choir and brass players will come together for a wonderful night of musical entertainment. The concert will raise money for Mountbatten Isle of Wight, the Island's community and hospice end-of-life and palliative care provider.
Inspired by the work of Dame Cicely Saunders, founder of the hospice movement, Mountbatten Isle of Wight was created in 1982. Mountbatten is the Isle of Wight’s only hospice, they deliver expert specialist palliative care 24/7, to both patients and their families, in their own homes and the hospice, supporting over 2,000 people in any one day. Their services include bereavement counselling for any Islander who needs it, rehabilitation, support, advice, equipment provision and symptom management. As well as caring for patients in their own homes, they operate a 16-bed inpatient unit in Newport, offering 24-hour specialist palliative care.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight aims to change attitudes towards death, dying and bereavement.

Your donation will go towards travel costs, shared accommodation and food for our choir members. We will share the donations between members, ensuring as many singers as possible can attend to perform.
We are a not for profit ladies choir who have been singing and performing since 1984. We open our doors to all women who want to find joy through song. Our mission is to sing and give pleasure to members and others through the presentation of public concerts and to increase members' musical knowledge. Based in the centre of Lydney, Gloucestershire, we're regularly invited to perform at community celebrations, local fundraisers, and private gatherings. Our performances range from small seasonal gatherings to full-stage concerts — including our much-loved free annual concert. Whether we're singing classics or contemporary favourites, we perform with passion, purpose, and pride.
As a successful and community-rooted choir with a charitable heart, we proudly support causes that matter. Each year, we dedicate our efforts to our chosen charities often linked to education, wellbeing, or the arts and use our platform to raise both awareness and funds. It's one more way we give back through song.
