Aim

Help us deliver a fantastic new pavilion that Snitterfield can be proud of. A much-needed facility for sport and community events

Who are we?

Snitterfield Playing Field is a registered charity and custodian of our 6 acre playing field and pavilion. We aim to provide excellent recreational facilities for young and old alike in our local area. The Parish Council is the sole trustee.

Why are we crowdfunding?

The pavilion supports activities on the 6 acre village playing field; not just sport but also community events such as the annual Village Fete. The existing pavilion is not fit-for-purpose. It is in a very poor state of repair, has issues with access and ventilation, and lacks ECB-compliant changing facilities.

What we have now

Let's replace it with this

How we’ll spend the money raised

We will build a much-needed replacement pavilion to safeguard and expand physical activities on our village playing field. The field is used by local cricket teams, 80+ children + parents in our All Stars cricket programme, footballers and for village groups and events such as the annual fete. The new changing facilities will meet Sport England standards for size, privacy and accessibility, helping us to establish junior and women's cricket teams. The central club room will provide an essential social space for groups using the field, and solar panels will minimise our energy use.

How your donation will help

The planned building will deliver the following benefits to our community:

  • The village will gain a purpose-built, sustainable building for sporting and community use
  • Existing activities will be secured, including the All Stars programme
  • We can attract more members and parents to help launch league teams in both senior and junior cricket
  • The building can also support local groups and their fundraising activities
  • The management of the building and organisations with use of the building are not for profit and the money generated by the groups will feed back into the community
  • This forms a key element of a wider plan to improve facilities on the playing field

Become a Centurion

We want to recognise everyone who helps us deliver his project, so the first 100 people to donate at least £100 can get a personalised message on a brick at the entrance to the pavilion. And super donors (£500+) will get a plaque on the wall of the pavilion.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
