Who Are We?

We are Shoreham Rugby Football Club (SRFC), a grassroots community rugby club located in West Sussex. Our club is built on decades of volunteer commitment and local pride. We're more than a sports club – we're a vital hub where people of all ages and backgrounds come together through the shared values of teamwork, resilience, and belonging.

 We welcome everyone, from children taking their first steps into sport to adults playing competitive rugby, to parents, friends, and community supporters who make our club what it is today. As we grow, so does our potential to serve the wider community in Shoreham.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?

We’ve secured matched funding from Sport England’s Movement Fund to help us transform a long-disused, council-owned building into a vibrant and functional clubhouse and shared community hub.

This refurbished space will provide safe, modern and inclusive facilities including toilets, kitchen and bar, changing areas, and a welcoming social space. The building will not only serve Shoreham RFC but also be made available to local cricket and tennis clubs, schools, and other groups in need of a flexible community venue.

 Your support will help bring a neglected local asset back to life and create a permanent base for sporting and community wellbeing in Shoreham.

 We need to raise £6,400 through this campaign to unlock Sport England’s matched contribution of £6,400 – making a total project fund of £12,800.

How We’ll Spend the Money Raised

Every pound raised will go directly into essential refurbishment works to bring this building back into safe, usable condition. Our budget breakdown is:

• Cladding: £3,000 (Sport England contribution £1500)  
• Security Doors: £1,800 (Sport England contribution: £900)
• Security Shutters: £3,000 (Sport England contribution: £1,500)
 • Fencing: £5,000 (Sport England contribution: £2,500)

This vital infrastructure will secure and protect the building and ensure it is safe and welcoming for all users.

Community Impact

The completed clubhouse will provide a safe, accessible and inclusive space to support sport, health, and wellbeing across the Shoreham area. Rugby may be at the heart of our club, but this project is about far more than sport.

 The building will host youth activities, match-day gatherings, educational events, and be open to other local groups who need space for training, meetings or events. We are committed to making this hub a shared community resource – owned and loved by Shoreham residents.
