We will organise a festival for the local community in Lancashire. We will have lots of activities, entertainment and Multi cultural food to share. We hope this event will be an annual event full of love and kindness.
We are raising funds for our community fridge project based in Rawtenstall at the Unitarian Church on bank street .The funds raised will be used to purchase food and the general everyday cost related to the community fridge .Thank you to everyone who has donated to our community cafe project which raised £6700 in total .
Please Help families on low income, the elderly and anyone struggling living on the margins of society. Now more then ever, they need your Help. They are alone, and isolated; suffering with the aftermath of the pandemic. Help us to provide them with a sense of community, Help us bring them closer together with like minded people, Bring them out of isolation so they can enjoy life even if just for a few hours to alleviate their suffering and loneliness. Help us to help them to feel loved and cared for, and like they matter. Let’s Make a Difference Together today! We at Shiva trust charity have been supporting people with food for 18 years. Through a Food Van , Food Parcels delivered to the door, Supermarket vouchers and Pop up Cafes. We have been providing pop up cafes for 10 of those 18 years. We are good at what we do; and we provide a multitude of opportunities for people to get their basic needs met. We always have activities and chances to talk and share with others. We have always felt lots of love at our events and now more than ever we feel that Shiva Pop Up Cafe's are needed. Post pandemic a wave of tales of isolation, depression and mental health problems are emerging. On the flip side, people have been taking stock of their life styles, priorities for people are changing. We have seen a stronger sense of the need for a community. People need support to transition to a new way of being .
We will use the money raised to hold cafes in Lancashire, provide signposting and referral information for food parcels and poverty related relief support, such as energy vouchers and community groups. We will be finding lots of different venues for our pop up cafes. We usually hold three cafes in the same venue over a three month period. This allows people to get to know each other and socialise. As we move from venue to venue our crowd usually follows us and at the last venue we are usually over subscribed and Filled to the rafters.
Our first cafe will be for 60 elderly people from Burnley wood and Rosehill. With the support of local residents Tracy, Jeff, Phil and the Burnley miners team. This is a follow on from a Christmas party we held for the elderly 2021.
We do what we do for the love of Shiva and how he teaches us to support the People living on the fringes of our society.
We will also be introducing wellness sessions for the community, these will involve Yoga, Meditation and healthy eating programmes. These activities will be activities to relieve stress, the symptoms of depression and encourage a beneficiaries to be more physically healthy.
