We're still collecting donations

Sensory Swim & Health Merseyside CIC
Has been established for one year and exists to provide sensory swimming sessions for children and adults with additional needs. We work in partnership with a private company who allow unwavering access to facilities We have identified a need for sensory swimming sessions within the Region of Liverpool and Merseyside, for those who are unable to access mainstream swimming lessons elsewhere and need a specialist setting.
What we can do
The CIC was set up in response to this and we're seeking funding to help fit-out new premises with sensory and physical adaptations to benefit our users. The private company will match funding used towards adaptations. Any remaining money will be used solely to provide swimming sessions for SSHM CIC users Our mission is to provide accessible sensory and physical integration swimming sessions benefiting families and adults who are unable to access public pools.
Team CIC
Our three directors include Kathy Wilson a swimming instructor and a former nursery nurse. Kathy has a background of working with children with additional needs. Tina Taylor and Clair Horrocks who are parents of children with neurodevelopmental conditions and sensory integration needs. Tina's background is working as a secretary for a charitable organisation. Clair currently works for a CIC company giving advice and support to families within the Merseyside Region. We all are very passionate about achieving SSHM CIC goals.
Making a Splash!
We are in the early stages of building relationships with our local community and have started to reach out to local organisations. We've had a great reception this far and aiming high a Sefton initiative is keen to collaborate with us. Also, we've reached out to schools with ASD resource bases, support groups and adult day centres. With adaptation to our shared facilities, we aim to reach more users and we envisage Sensory Swim & Health CIC as a well-established resource for the community
